  • Export Letters of Credit

    Notification, confirmation, negotiation, and financing of foreign documentary credits issued in favor of Argentine exporters. Our network of domestic branches and foreign correspondent banks enables your transactions to be settled rapidly and safely, as your company deserves.
  • Export Collections

    Management of acceptance and/or collection of commercial and financial documents issued by exporters located in Argentina to foreign importers, using for such purpose the services of a collecting bank placed in the importers location.
  • Received Stand By Letters of Credit

    Banco de la Nación Argentina acts as an advising bank for foreign Stand By letters of credit in favor of companies located in Argentina, providing confirmation, if required, after making a prior analysis.
  • Foreign Payment Orders

    Settlement at the Single Free Exchange Market (Mercado Libre de Cambios – MLC) and payment of funds received from abroad to beneficiaries in Argentina. Our network of branches and foreign correspondent banks enables your transactions to be settled rapidly and safely, as your company deserves.
  • Import Letters of Credit

    Issuance, negotiation, payment, and financing of documentary credits requested by your customers for the import of goods from abroad. In addition, our broad network of branches and foreign correspondent banks enables your transactions to be notified/confirmed –as required–, traded and settled rapidly and safely, as your company deserves.
  • Import Collections

    Management of acceptance and/or collection for importers located in Argentina of commercial and financial documents sent from abroad by foreign exporters through our branches or foreign correspondent banks.

  • Local Currency Payment System (SML)

    SML is a payment system intended for business transactions, enabling Argentine, Uruguayan and Brazilian importers and exporters to pay and collect in their respective local currencies.

    The following transactions may be conducted by resident customers through the SML implemented by the Central Bank of the Republic of Argentina with the central banks of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay:

    1. Collections from Argentine exports of related goods and services to the above countries, documented in Argentine pesos.
    2. Payments for Argentine imports of related goods and services from the above countries, documented in the legal tender of the counterparty country.
    3. Pensions and other retirement benefits paid by pension institutions of the participating countries when there is a bilateral agreement entered into by those institutions.
    4. Return of transactions previously carried out through this System.

    In the case of the Federative Republic of Brazil transactions, the term of payment shall not exceed 360 calendar days.

    The use thereof is voluntary. It is only applicable to transactions for the trading of goods, including services and expenses related thereto, such as freight and insurance costs, provided that it is previously agreed upon between importer and exporter as a sale condition. It is not an exchange risk hedging mechanism.

    SML cycle is initiated by the importer, who shall record its transaction and enforce payment in its own currency through an authorized financial institution. Thereafter, clearing of the local currency transactions will be performed among the intervening central Banks. Then, the participating central banks shall transfer credit to exporters through the banking system.

    This system provides companies with a new option to process their transactions, in addition to the traditional use of free currency or settlement currency.
